We start the walk at the start of the Ambron track, following the bank to the dam. By contemplating the blocks of several tens of tons frozen below the structure, one can only imagine the horror of the night when the dam gave way. Arrived on the cursed place (the "Malpasset" being already known for its numerous attacks perpetrated by a thief of highways), we discover this gigantic wall destroyed over more than half. The route takes us behind, where we can better appreciate the fracture zone of the rock (far right). The rest of the walk takes place in the surrounding hills, after a gentle ascent on the tracks, we find ourselves in a bird's eye view of the dam, another way to appreciate the structure and its devastation. The very end of the journey is in the return direction on the same road. Little shade, except at the back of the dam (ideal for a picnic break by the river), it is better to focus on its realization in mid-season.
